Are you interested in becoming an official part of the 10thousandgirl Campaign – a program bringing finance to life for 10,000 young women around Australia and setting a ripple effect in motion to raise $1million towards a microfinance initiative?

We are looking for a group of motivated and inspired girls to play an active role in the 10thousandgirl Steering Committee to provide insight, feedback and recommendations to the Campaign. The Committee meets monthly to provide guidance to Campaign staff and Directors on new products, services and strategic direction, as well as acting as Campaign ambassadors.

Who are we looking for?

The Steering Committee will consist of 8-10 young women from around Australia, from major cities to regional centres.

Members of the group represent 10thousandgirl’s target market: 18-35 year old young women who are open to change and looking to bring finance to life for themselves and for others.

Committee members are girls who enjoy being connected to the world around them. You’re a trendsetter or trendspotter. You may be a connected influencer, astute observer or a big picture thinker.

The 2010 Committee has a one-year term. The Committee’s Chair, Arienne Gorlach, will act as the main liaison point and report the findings and recommendations of the members to the Campaign’s staff and Directors.

What’s involved?

Committee members will cast a thoughtful eye over 10thousandgirl’s ideas, plans and programs to ensure they will achieve our mission – to empower young women around the world to make the most of their lives through increased financial understanding. They will take part in a 10thousandgirl Life Planning Workshop and be the initial test audience for the online Personal Finance Program.

An evening meeting will be conducted monthly. Committee members will attend each of the 12 meetings and be in touch from time to time for mutual development. As girls from all over Australia are encouraged to become members, those in the same city will be meeting in person and joining the rest of the Committee via Skype. The meetings are intimate and friendly so that everyone has a chance to contribute. The Committee Chair will oversee a structured meeting agenda, with Campaign staff and Directors providing direction on monthly focus topics.

Along the way, you’ll be rewarded with free access to 10thousandgirl programs, be recognised for your founding contribution and build long-lasting relationships.

This is due by Friday 30 April 2010.

We will contact you within a fortnight, by Friday 14 May. Members of the new Steering Committee will have their first meeting at the end of May, and be ready to start the Personal Finance Program in June 2010 – one month prior to its official rollout.
